Adam Mitchell, Head Coach (4th season)

The 2011 season will be the 2nd season for Adam Mitchell as head coach of the West Virginia Chaos PDL even though this is Mitchell’s 4th season at the club after spending the first two as the assistant player/coach. Last year Mitchell led the team to an overall 2nd best finish in the franchise history of the club and is hoping to be as succesful as last term when they compete in the South Atlantic division this time around.

In 2008 Mitchell’s playing time in the PDL was restricted due to breaking his ulna in the third game, but he spent the rest of the season coaching from the sidelines.

In 2009 Mitchell finished in 5th place with the most shots saved (74), with 1,231 minutes under his belt in 14 games, while competing in the PDL. As assistant coach, under Head Coach Chris Whalley, he implemented the West Virginia Chaos to finish in 5th place the in Mid Atlantic Division.

Mitchell’s career began at age 11 with York City FC, where he represented the club at school boy level for five years. At age 16, Mitchell signed a three-year YTS contract with Halifax Town. In his three years stint with the club, Halifax gained promotion to League Two of the English Football League – a tremendous achievement for the club.

Following the promotion, Halifax’s new manager did not renew Mitchell’s contract. Disappointed, Mitchell decided to leave his dream of professional soccer and become a part time semi-professional and work a day job at the same time.

His new club, Pickering Town, won promotion two seasons in a row, before he moved to Goole Town in the Unibond Division before making his first stop with Selby Town FC.

In 2006-2007 he won the Player’s player of the year award. Mitchell received a call from FK Mjolner in the Norwegian Division II offering him a professional contract. Mitchell was pleased to join the professional side before opting to return to Selby Town later that season.

Mitchell currently lives in Charleston, WV.

Assistant Coach

 

      
 
Jamie Davies will be acting as Assistant/ Player coach for the 2011 PDL Season. This will be Jamie’s third year with the West Virginia Chaos and his second as assistant, he was a great role model to the Chaos last term as a player and coach and brings great experiance to the team with his style of play and knowledge of the game.
Jamie has four years of playing experience in the PDL after spending two seasons with the New Orleans Jesters and two with the West Virginia Chaos.
 
In the 2007 PDL season with New Orleans, Jamie was voted player of the week twice while being invited to the USL Combine at the end of the season.
 
As a graduate of William Woods University in Fulton, MO, Jamie took the Assistant Coach position at the prestigious NAIA school University of Rio Grande, OH.
 
Here he helped Rio Grande to the NAIA National Championship game in 2008 losing out to Bethel, TN and then to the NAIA National Final Four in 2009 losing narrowly on penalties to the Masters College, CA. Jamie has helped bridge good connections between the University of Rio Grande and the West Virginia Chaos and has helped secured several stand out players from the 2009 season.

 
Jamie a native of London, England who had spells with Crystal Palace F.C and Leyton Orient F.C. as a youth player is looking to bring the English style of play and coaching to the West Virginia Chaos this summer.
Jamie is currently the mens soccer assistant at Lime Stone college SC.
